Chris Tomlin Leads 38th Annual Dove Award Nominations
Chris Tomlin, the Gospel Music Association's 2006 Artist and Male Vocalist of the Year, is once again the leader in this year's 38th Annual GMA Dove Awards nominations. The awards ceremony will be held April 25, 2007, at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville and televised in syndication throughout May.
Among Tomlin's nominations are: Song of the Year ("Made to Worship"), Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist, Pop/Contemporary Song ("Made to Worship"), Worship Song ("Holy Is the Lord" and "Made to Worship"), Pop/Contemporary Album, and Praise & Worship Album (SEE THE MORNING).
"Wow! I am so humbled to receive these GMA Dove nominations in recognition of this music," said Tomlin. "In our world and culture of music that seems to be all about making a name for yourself, it's an honor to carry the message of the everlasting God and His unending fame. I will continue to try to write songs that give people a voice to worship God."
Other nominees among Tomlin's EMI CMG label mates and affiliates include:
- Sanctus Real for Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year ("I'm Not Alright") and Rock/Contemporary Album (THE FACE OF LOVE).
- Nichole Nordeman for Female Vocalist and Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year ("Glory," a duet with Selah).
- Avalon for Inspirational Recorded Song ("Orphans of God").
- Passion for Special Event Album (PASSION: EVERYTHING GLORIOUS, featuring Chris Tomlin, David Crowder*Band, Charlie Hall, Matt Redman, and others).
- The Worship Together label's HERE I AM TO WORSHIP KIDS 3 for Children's Music Album.
- Matt Redman for Children's Music Album, for his involvement with VEGGIE TALES WORSHIP SONGS.
- Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin's SEE THE MORNING) for Producer of the Year.
- Nathan Nockels (PASSION: EVERYTHING GLORIOUS and SING OVER ME) for Producer of the Year.
