Starfield Gets Juno Nod; Singer Joins Glory Revealed Tour
Starfield is Canada's most award-winning band at work today. The rising rock and worship act has received a 2007 Juno nomination (Canada's version of the GRAMMY) for Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year (BEAUTY IN THE BROKEN) following a long string of other recent notable honors.
Last month, Starfield won three popular-vote Shai Awards in its home country for Group of the Year, Contemporary/Pop Album of the Year (BEAUTY IN THE BROKEN), and, for the fourth consecutive time, Artist of the Year. Last October, the group won four GMA Canada Covenant Awards including Album of the Year (BEAUTY IN THE BROKEN) and Song of the Year ("Son of God").
"We are continually blessed and humbled by the amazing support base we have in Canada," says Starfield frontman Jon Neufeld. "It is a huge honor to be nominated for a Juno award, especially when added to the recognition we've already received this year. Thanks to all the fans, friends, and family up North for believing in us."
Released in May 2006 and produced by Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin) and Matt Bronleewe (Jars of Clay), BEAUTY IN THE BROKEN features the popular singles "My Generation" and "Son of God" plus the current radio hit, "Everything Is Beautiful." Starfield will continue touring in support of the project throughout 2007.
For the month of April, Neufeld will join Third Day's Mac Powell, Shane & Shane, Backstreet Boys' Brian Littrell, and author/speaker David Nasser for the Glory Revealed Tour, a unique experience where all of the artists will be on the stage together the whole time, taking turns singing and sharing from God's Word.
