UK’s Delirious? Returns from India; Next Stop America
British band Delirious? recently returned home from its second tour through India. The acclaimed rock and worship quintet was equally inspired and inspiring as it ministered in slums by day and performed outdoor evening concerts in Bangalore, Mumbai, and Pune.
"Another tour, another crowd, another continent," said frontman Martin Smith. "So why does my heart feel like it has been pulled out, turned round, and put back a different way? As a band, we are living in our dreams, our future is now, and we are seeing what we longed to see. Having top twenty singles in the charts was a good part of the journey, but going to a slum in Mumbai and singing ‘Rain Down' to those who own nothing is something extraordinary."
Delirious? brought children and mothers from the slums of Mumbai to a concert where the kids were invited to sing and dance on stage.
"We have played with some great artists," Smith said, "but none were as radiant as the children rescued from the red light district, dancing with us on stage with so much joy on their faces you would think they had one foot already in heaven."
Up next, Delirious? visits the United States March 14 through April 13 for the Worship Revolution Tour with Rebecca St. James and Vicky Beeching. The band will be playing in support of its new CD/DVD set, NOW IS THE TIME: LIVE AT WILLOW CREEK. For a complete list of stateside concert appearances and more, visit delirious.co.uk.
