Family Force 5 Nabs Dove Award Nomination for Rock Album

Family Force 5As the Family Force 5 “crunk-rock” phenomenon continues to build, the band has been recognized yet again, this time with a Dove Award nomination for “Rock Album of the Year” for their debut release Business Up Front, Party In The Back (Maverick/Gotee).

Gotee will release the Business Up Front, Party In The Back: Diamond Edition on March 20th, with three new songs and expanded packaging added to the original album. The band is currently on tour with Disciple (SRE Recordings) before heading out with Tobymac for dates throughout March and April, and major festival dates throughout the summer. Family Force 5 is a stand-out fan favorite with their live show as Tic Long, President of Events for Youth Specialties notes, “They bring the party, but more that that they are rock solid believers who want to make an impact on culture.”

2006 brought an onslaught of media exposure for Family Force 5 including performances on CBS TV’s The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson, two performances on DIRECTV’s CD USA, and music video exposure on MTVU.com. The rockers have seen success at Christian radio as well with two #1 rock radio hits “Replace Me” and “Love Addict”. 2006 tour highlights include Journeys Backyard BBQ Tour and Van’s Warped Tour. Fans can anticipate a one-hour “Front Row Live” performance special on the Gospel Music Channel in the upcoming months, as well as additional Van's Warped tour dates for 2007.

Led by front man and guitarist Solomon Olds (aka Soul Glow Activator), Family Force 5 includes Solomon’s two brothers Jacob Olds (aka Crouton) on drums/vocal, and his twin Joshua Olds (aka Fatty) on bass/vocals. The force of five is rounded out by Nathan Currin (aka Nadaddy) on keyboard and Derek Mount (aka Chap Stique) on guitar.
