EMI CMG Publishing Named ASCAP Publisher of the Year

ASCAPEMI CMG Publishing has just been named the 2007 ASCAP Christian Music Publisher of the Year thanks in part to popular songs from top artists including Chris Tomlin, Sanctus Real, and David Crowder*Band.

Tomlin, who recently received his second consecutive Gospel Music Association Artist and Male Vocalist of the Year Dove Awards, won the ASCAP Christian Songwriter of the Year honor and was recognized for having two Top 25 Airplay Awards ("How Great Is Our God," "Made to Worship").

Sanctus Real ("I'm Not Alright," "The Face of Love") and David Crowder*Band ("Wholly Yours") also received Top 25 Airplay Awards as did Nichole Nordeman ("What If") and Matthew West ("Only Grace," "Broken & Beautiful").

In addition, ASCAP honored pioneering Christian rock group DeGarmo & Key with its Vision Award, and the ceremony was highlighted by the band's reunion of original members (including EMI CMG Publishing executive Eddie DeGarmo) and live performance of the classic hits "Boycott Hell" and "Rock Solid."
