Steven Curtis Chapman

On Set with the Gospel Music Channel. GMC to launch SCC hosted series in the Fall

On Tuesday and Wednesday of last week, I got to spend some time with Steven. So many Asia stories to tell, so much to catch up on family wise, it was good to be back in the same room with him after ichatting or speaking by phone for the past 2 months plus.

On Tuesday, Steven spent the day with some very talented video producers, Paul and Michelle and their crew, completing 10 programs for the Gospel Music Channel. The shows, The Best of the Doves, are slated to begin airing in the fall and feature highlights from the Dove Awards. Have you seen the Gospel Music Channel? I've been very impressed with the programming I've seen them developing, and just recently they were added to the cable systems here in Nashville and I've had a chance to check them out at our office occassionally. Worth a look.

10 shows in one day, that's insane, yes. But with an amazing crew, great scripts and preparation by the production team, Craft Services catering, and a total pro like Steven... amazing things can be acomplished.

What happened Wednesday? next blog...

*off to pester DirecTV again*

There's a link on GMC's site about Congress demanding a "family tier" of programming and that potential viewers should mention how family friendly the Gospel Music Channel is.

If any of you guys are DirecTV (or other dish or cable providers) subscribers, please call and do these things (per GMC's request):

1. CALL YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER DIRECTLY.
2. Ask to speak to the marketing director or general manager.
3. Tell them you've heard that Congress is demanding they provide a "Family Tier" of programming.
4. Let them know that Gospel Music Channel must be part of the family tier because:
Gospel Music Channel has no offensive videos, lyrics, or themes
5. There is inspriational, uplifing programming for all members of the family

There's also a form they want you to fill out once you've phoned your cable/satellite provider. Just go to www.gospelmusicchannel.com and the link/logo is on the upper right ocrner of the page.

Jim, I hope you don't mind me spamming the blog with this. If I'm outta line, feel free to hit the delete key :-).

I'm hoping we have GMC by the time this special airs!!!
