I still think that we're going to need 'sneak previews' here on the message boards - maybe something underground?! We promise not to leak them. I can't wait to hear what you guys have been brewing.

Looking forward to the new Passion album - question: is the "You Are God" version the same as the one that was released on iTunes? Not that it matters - but it would be cool to hear how it's changed since that was recorded over a year ago.

I guess this thread will stay fairly slow until we get more input from the guys or new video's are posted - at least until March - then we'll see what news pops up. Where are you doing the recording this time? Upstairs?

Looks like we'll be recording this one at "The Music Group" since it's all finished and ready to roll. We'll do some overdubs on our own and try to piece together some delicious-ness. :D

 

 

Had the chance to hear "Chain Breaker" and "Mystery" over the past weekend - and I'm pretty sure these will both show up on the new album. Mystery was a great track - but Chain Breaker was incredible! I really am very interested to hear how this turns out in the studio - it's so energetic. Good stuff guys!

Just finished playing both of those songs at the Passion Regional here in Atlanta....and wow. It was so encouraging to see people connecting to these 2 songs that we've been working so hard on. Glad to hear what you thought of them Ants! Look forward to sharing more with everyone!!

I am all the more psyched about hearing the new album now that I heard (perhaps better said: sang from the heart) the two aforementioned songs at the regional event in Atlanta! Great stuff guys, thank you for writing cool music to connect with God. I can't decide which song I liked more, they were both amazing. I loved how we sang the mystery of our faith together: Christ has died and Christ is risen and Christ will come again.

 If we can't hear demos of these songs could you post a few chords so that we could learn them?

Heard a lot of great feedback on Mystery from Passion ATL. It really seems to have stuck with everyone!

Also, it's been a while since we've updated the "spoiler list", so here it is:

What's the latest on the new album? Are we pushing towards a title/release date/final track listing? Maybe a new video is in order...

We're almost done with tracking for the new CD....we've got a working title, but nothing we can talk about yet.  ;) It looks like the release date is Aug.19, 2008...and the final track listing isn't even on the radar yet. We've tracked 14 songs so far and 3 of them won't be on the final album. We have to figure out what to cut before we can even start discussing track listing. This is a great problem to have at this point.

does charlie have some rule about not putting more than 11 songs on a record or something? pffffsshhhhhh. lame. ;) 

but that seriously is a GREAT problem to have. I wouldn't know what that's like. haha. "well, i wrote song number 10 this morning...let's lay it down and get this thing mastered and off to the press and with any luck, the pressed copies will arrive hours before our CD release show begins."

This is definitely the first time that songwriting has come this smoothly. Usually we write about 50 songs because the label keeps saying "Keep going"

well, not that its coming straight from the source, but i hear its in mixing, and will be released in august most likely. i also hear bryan has a cowbell solo on it. wait, no. that was just a rumor. my dreams have been crushed.

Not sure what happened, but I posted a reply while I was in Kampala, Uganda but I guess our message board decided make all posts from the continent of Africa "invisible".....but here's the lowdown...

The new record is currently getting mixed. The illustrious Shane Wilson (of Nashville, TN) is doing the mixing and we couldn't be more excited about it! 14 tracks is still the count, but only 11 will make the  final record. The other 3 will somehow some way make an appearance somewhere but no idea where that will be at this time. We'll know something by August 19, 2008, though.   I'm counting the days!!

Oh, and I've not got a cowbell solo....but there ARE definitely bells. ;) Don't be crushed Blake. We all know that I only play cowbell live!
