So, as a musician, people find that they need to pass on CD's of bands that they think I would enjoy - and I get a CD (no packaging, just the disc) in the mail yesterday, and just as I'm about to trash it - I read the rim of the CD:

"Charlie Hall - Live Roots"

I was quite amuzed, but I had never heard of this album - so I popped it in, and did some google research. I couldn't find very much online, so I'm wondering two things:

1. What are the origins of this CD?
2. What are some other CHB albums that are circulating that I might not know about?

I must say, I do love the "Holy Visitation" on this CD. Good stuff.

Not a whole lot of a story behind it......but here goes. Live Roots is a collection of live tracks that we gathered from "the 4 winds" as we were preparing for "The Fall Journey" Tour we did a few years ago. Here and there, we had some multi-track recordings of some of our songs, and nothing was ever done with the recordings. We pulled them all together and thought, "Hey wait a minute, we like all these moments" and didn't want the music to remain orphaned. Fall Journey was a great time to introduce people to those songs on recordings again, so we made it in '04. How's that??

I bought the cd almost 3 years ago for like $10, it was the best $10 I ever spent.  On the Road To Beautiful is amazing, the ending is some of the best moments on the cd.  Prepare the way and Blessed Assurance are good too.
