Hello - I'm not familiar with using a message center, so here goes.
I painted a pastel portrait of Steven Curtis Chapman years ago and it's on my website. He graciously signed it and met me at a bookstore in Tyler, Texas where he had a concert at Green Acres Baptist Church. He actually was not signing autographs at that time. But the bookstore manager saw I was having touble taking a picture of him due to the crowd size and I was in back (a TV crew was there). I asked him to take a picture and he said,"I'll do you one better".
The manager spoke with him and led me to a different room. My going to the room I felt like a parting of the Red Sea growing through the crowd. Moments like that go in my "special moments" heartfelt memories part of my mind (along with such things as finding a newborn fawn on our property, and more). Steven and Geoff Moore spoke briefly with me and encouraged me to be in the picture with them when I said no that wasn't necessary.
A nurse I work with suggested I email SCC with an offer to pastel paint a portrait of Maria for him. The rest of my shift (I'm a nurse) I had the sensation of a burden on my heart. Perhaps a portrait of Maria by herself, or with SCC, or family. I don't desire payment, but I'd like to put it on my website.
I pray his grief will lead to an even stronger sense of peace with Him.
